Dental Bridges, Are They Right For You?

Dental Bridges

Dental bridges fill the space of a missing or missing teeth. They are considered a fixed prosthodontic. Carolina Dentistry @ The StateLine provides our expertise and skills for outstanding bridge work.

Bridges can be attached to a natural tooth, dental implant or both. A dental bridge provides both functionality and aesthetics to the smile. They are typically composed of porcelain fused to metal or ceramics.

How long does the procedure take?

Depending on how complex the case is the procedure may take anywhere from 1 hour to 2 hours. A dental bridge procedure has two visits to it. The first visit will consist of prepping the teeth, impressions made to be sent to the dental laboratory where fabrication of your dental bridge will take place. This visit also allows either the dentist or his assistant to make a temporary bridge until your permanent bridge is ready for placement. Your dental provider will schedule your next visit. The following visit for placement of the bridge is shorter in time length.

Dental bridges are wonderful treatment options for many patients. Remember as with all dental work proper maintenance is key to the longevity of the your dental work. Make sure to follow all instructions and recommendations from your dental provider.
